Emotions were running high during the plebiciste that would ultimately decide the fate of Australia’s LGBT+ citizens. Though many had the loving support of broad communities, rural queer people were left especially vulnerable.
Heading the call, a group of gay men from every political persuasion descended on rural areas to help turn out the YES vote - including myself. Along the way, I came to document this mini-campaign in a series of videos and photos.
The road to equality was long - but like no journey you've ever seen before.
